Having problem with Spit guns and cannons in The Big Show Campaign

I am up to mission 5 in the Big Show campaign and having some issues in it with my guns and cannons. I will start firing them and they pretty quickly stop working. Had just tried Mission 5 , flew a half hour to rendexvous point, got on a bandit's six and started firing and very quickly they stopped firing. I have double and triple checked I do not have any controller conflicts and tested those buttons in joystick tester and all looks well there.

Any ideas what might be going on? It happened on some previous missions in that campaign but seems to be getting worse.

Ok got it figured out, apparently it did not like my assigning guns and cannons to second stage trigger on my Gunfighter ( had guns assigned to first stage and cannons to flip down) , re-assigned to a diiff button and all is well now.
