motoadve Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 I select VR tab, select all the settings I want, press ok. Re start DCS. Settings stay the same as they were before I made the changes. Tried it many times and does not work. Is there a way I can do this manually? If so which is the file please. Also I change IPD and does not make any changes in game.
hsth Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Have you tried running DCS as administrator? (properties - compatibility - run as admin). Sometimes it can be as simple as access rights to folder and/or files.
motoadve Posted January 23, 2023 Author Posted January 23, 2023 Thanks, just tried it and that did not worked either
hsth Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Please check your options in file <your disk>:\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Options.lua. In there you have a section called 'VR' where you can check the options. Also check that the file (and directories to it) or not write-protected.
GayCavalier Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 I've noted this issue too - even if you do change, the settings, the "hand controller" selections do not initialize correctly when DCS starts i.e. it always initializes with "both hands" laser pointers regardless of what you have set or saved in a prior session. motoadve Posted January 23, 2023 Author Posted January 23, 2023 Thanks, was able to change the IPD value, will give it a try. What I am trying to do is set texture to high in VR Which file I can open to change that manually?

Mine are on medium in game settings and already has a 2 as a value in the file, is high a 3 ? Also terrain textures in game settings are on low but shows max on the file, should I put extreme or what is the proper wording? This is what I have in the file. GayCavalier Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Having both on the highest setting would be: ["terrainTextures"] = "max", ["textures"] = 2, If you're having major issues with DCS not saving the options.lua, you could always delete it (or rename it to "options.lua_old"), DCS will rebuild it when you restart DCS, that may fix the issue with the file. Just did that and did not worked for me either.
