Hi,

A typical chitchat subject, but I came across a website that sold nice quality metal plane models and decided to buy the 1/100 scale model F/A-18F model and it's looking awesome on my desk.

Are there more people who got interested in these models by playing DCS? Where do you buy them?

I am also thinking of buying the Eurofighter Tyfoon (I'm European), The F15 Eagle and the SU-35.

Ps. As a kid I made some plane models and loved doing it, but the metal of the model I have now is so much nicer than the plastic feel.

Judging by your nickname:

www.aviationmegastore.com

They also have a rather amazing physical store near Schiphol airport.

And, yes, I do collect models of DCS aircraft 🙂 but mine are still plastic, in 1/72 scale. But since I lack the time to properly finish them etc., I have been thinking about metal models instead. However some of my favourite models are difficult to find in metal.

It's been a while since i was interested in this but I still have 1:72 models of an A-10 in woodland camo, F-8 in US Navy livery (checkered rudder fin, don't know what that is) and F-104 in NASA testing livery.

Looks like new 1:72 models cost 100 dollars or more regardless of if it's an F-35 or a U-2 so that will certainly keep me out of this as well.

Yes I have found them, for 1:72 planes the are actually cheaper than the website I got mine from. But for some reason, www.aviationmegastore.com doesn't have 1:100 scale planes :-). I bought mine from an English site.

The only plane I built as a kid was a P-51. Makes sense since I was born at the beginning of WW2.

My first was a Phantom, followed by a spitfire and then a B17F flying fortress. 🙂

Then a 17-18th century ship of the line.
