Mission 2 starting from checkpoint?

I need to test by doing the whole mission again (which is a bit time consuming) but starting frrom the checkpoint a few times now I have no idea what to do and nothing seems to happen.  I am betting when I get around to just starting from the beginning it will trigger and make sense.

Also, I get some written messages that add to the confusion, because I'm supposed to do some landing somewhere after somebody.
But I'm all alone in the air. What is this about? To test my ability to navigate? As in following waypoints?

Start the mission over
You have a route in TDS, it is important to set up the radio frequencies that you will find in the tablet, there is also a tablet in pdf format in the campaign folder in the Doc folder

mission plan
You take off and follow Saber 3-1, he is your leader.
Follow a route in TDS
On WP4, orbit with the leader. The radio dialogue will lead you to set the coordinates in TDS, you can just follow the leader.
At the Alpha point, orbit again
Your whole task is to follow the leader. It is not necessary to keep the formation, just keep it in sight and follow it.

The purpose of the mission is training flights with the coordination and cooperative work of different types of troops from different NATO countries. It's just exercises, no shooting!
Very important information in the briefing, at the end of the briefing.
Be sure to connect the fuel tanks in the on-board computer

Listen to radio communications, use the history of radio messages to read dialogues and orders again.
I think you will succeed.

Helicopter - It is better not to use the Checkpoint during the first passage of the mission. This is the second half of the mission, and naturally you will not understand what is going on and what needs to be done.

Well.. Saber 3-1 was not there.
But now that I know, I will look for him.

It's probably ill advised but I find it easier to lock target onto him to make it easier to follow

Re: the fuel tanks. I've done this mission about 8 times and most of them I ran out of fuel! I guess I need to read up on connecting tanks. I tried just sending rear to front but time to check the manual   Enjoying it though, I must be if I'm prepared to try again and not just skip!

There is an indication - be sure to turn on AUX FUEL, there is also a link to a YouTube video with training on how to do it!

Then I fly in formation to farp, where I hover for 30 sec. while he is on ground. After his take off I land, and get audio from ground crew.
Then "PLT: taking off" (Tekst)
And by then Saber 3-1 is long gone.

The radio frequency is set, if you see a text link with Saber 3-1, then on the right side panel, find the radio settings panel, and turn up the volume, and right-click all the toggle switches!

On your route - when you are on FARP, Saber 3-1 orbits FARP in a radius of about 2 miles, in order for him to continue flying along the route, you need to line up with him.
It should work, Saber 3-1 shouldn't fly away.
BUT in DCS, I observe incorrect work of AI, there may be problems with this.
I'll test it soon and fix it for the next OB update!

By the time I take off, he's gone. So I go to wpt 4, and at that point he is way off somewhere around Abu Dhabi intl.

It orbits around the FARP, you need to get closer than 500 feet to it. He is waiting for you to become his wingman! 
After taking off from FARP, you will hear the following dialogue.
 

PLT: - 2, taking off and into formation!

SABER 3-1: - Right echelon, please!

 

This means that you must stand in a formation, and then your leader will continue to move!

Landing on a FARP is a standard exercise for training flights!
2 mission - This is a training flight to train the interaction between you and your leader, as well as between your group and ground services, as well as between different types of NATO troops (further in the story)

Like I said, he is allready over Abu Dhabi intl. My only (logical) option is to follow flightplan to wpt 4.
..land there, and end the mission.

I got it! I'll think of something to fix this.
