clean install PC - Virpil settings

Hi,

I am going to do a clean install of my PC and was wondering if I need to copy Virpil data from uses/name/AppData/local/Virpil to my new installation?

Nope, don't need to bother with that. In fact you don't need to copy anything as your devices store everything on the devices themselves.  Just reinstall the VPC software on your new Windows install.  I mean, you could export your profiles and save them, just to be safe.

Make sure to backup C:\Users\YOURUserNameHere\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input\FA-18C_hornet as well, otherwise you're gonna have a bad time and have to rebind everything in game once you reinstall.

I personally add this folder to my google drive sync so that way I never forget and do a zip archive for extra insurance...I've had a windows 10 install get corrupted and not having that was no fun.

If you also play MSFS 2020, luckily those are all saved via steam cloud backup. (if thats where you purchased the game).

Copy the whole Input folder if you’re going to do that. Then you have all module binds, not just the Hornet. 
But, it makes sense to have a proper backup strategy for your whole system.
