markturner1960 Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 Does it really matter what "screen resolution you choose in the DCS options for your VR preset? I ask as my main monitor is a 5120 x 1440 alongside my winwing MP1 which adds 3 screens. These are always connected and detected by windows, I cant turn them off without messing with my display settings, and if I choose anything other than that. If I choose any other resolution other than the main monitor native, I get issues with application windows rendering off the main monitor and I cant click on them etc. However, am I loosing valuable performance overhead by this? I have tried various settings and it appears to make zero difference to the "VR" DCS rendered on my monitor while in VR.....in fact , while I think of it, why do we even need that at all when VR is running? Can you turn it off? System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.
speed-of-heat Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 I have never found any appreciable difference in performance based upon the resolution of the 2d mirror being similar or smaller than the VR image ... I have a 1440p monitor. speed-of-heat Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 no but you could change the size of the mirror, in my tests it never made any difference to performance 1 SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
