Why is my image in the briefing panel so small?

Every time I upload an image to the mission briefing it always appears small. even though the image is 2560W and 1414H.

The briefing images display is a fixed size (1024 x 1024) so it is just scaling the image to fit (in your case 1024 x 565). 

Try to keep your images to 1024x1024 (or the image height = width if a larger size)

You can zoom the image (scroll wheel) or move the image around.
