Flyingfish Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 I can't bring the comms menu up. I've rebinded the input to different keys on the keyboard and buttons on the HOTAS but it still won't work. I've also uninstalled the game and reinstalled it but there's still no change. I'm using DCS on Steam Specs 5800X3D RTX4090 M.2 Windows 10 32gb RAM 1 RTX 4090, AMD 9800x3D, 64GB Ram
rob10 Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 We need more details, especially what plane you're having issues in. For example, in the F-18: if you are binding "Communication menu" that only works while you are on the ground. You need to bind "COMM Switch - COMM 1" and/or "COMM Switch - COMM 2" to use them in the air. Also, are you on stable branch or open-beta branch? If you're on stable (or not the current open beta) check that you aren't binding in "game mode" and playing in "sim mode" or viceversa (game bindings have been removed recently in open beta, so if you're current on it that's not the problem).

It resolved itself when I plugged in the old USB keyboard. I don't think the problem is related to DCS at all.
Utirvik Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 Hi ! I had the same problem on Open Beta. I do not know if it is because I switched from Win10 to Win11 or if it is due to changing my rudder from Saitek Pro to TM TPR. Anyway, it has been SOLVED by running the DCS repair tool Cheers ! 1
TEMPEST.114 Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 I'm having this in OB. It is working perfectly at the start of my mission / play session, at some point (regardless of aircraft I'm flying) THE RADIO MENU stops responding to ANYTHING other than the physical keyboard. If I bring up the SETTINGS / CONTROLS then the HOTAS is still triggering the event and the buttons are being detected by DCS, but DCS will not show or transmit on those button presses. This ***IS*** DCS.
Jokkr Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 Im having the same issue, but "only" on F14. Other modules working fine jokkr
GB014934 Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 I have had similar problems bringing up the 'Communications' Menu using the '\' key. I have a Logitech UK Keyboard and have experienced problems on both the latest Open Beta and non Beta editions. I use the latest Windows 11 Pro Version. The only way I have found to fix the problem is to add a keybinding specifically using my keyboard. I have to do this for EVERY aircraft + the General option. After I go thru the process of adding a key binding to the Communications option I end up with an entry of 'OEM102' (plus I can leave the original '\' there). This now works on the few aircraft I have modified. I have not yet tested 'Switch Dialog' & 'Switch to Main Menu' , both of which have a '\' coded with a modifier key. I could not find a way of specifiying my particular keyboard to DCS hence my long winded solution. Hope it helps !! Trevor
