Superbug Echo Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 The current sound loop for the engine shutdown is WAY TOO SHORT. From the time you throttle back to when the sound diminishes is about 9 seconds...if that. If you watch this video you can see the real T30 engine shutdown takes twice that time-counting the sound of the compressor shutting down, just before the rattle. In the video the shutdown begins at 13:37 and completely ends at 1400-about 23 seconds later. This sounds authentic. Here's the F110-GE400 engine startup sound: This has a portion of the shutdown at the end but gets interrupted. Again, the entire sequence takes longer than 9 seconds. 1
Despayre Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 I could be wrong, but going by the engine nozzles, those don't look like T30's to me, they look like F110's (ergo F-14B's only). I'm not updating this anymore. It's safe to assume I have all the stuff, and the stuff for the stuff too.

I think maybe he was flying an A, and saying it doesn't sound like a B. That's my point. (and please, don't say something dumb like "But the video is labelled as an F-14A!"... yes it is, but look at them, and if you look at the one in the hangar behind it (around the 14 min mark), that one is ALSO a B I think. I think the video might be mislabeled.) Edited March 5, 2023 by Despayre I'm not updating this anymore. It's safe to assume I have all the stuff, and the stuff for the stuff too.
