I ran it with Andre's software, all it did was mildly vibrate (intensity changed with engine revs, no gun effect I could discern, nothing on landing). Piss-weak and I became hot too, in just ten minutes. I also installed the native software but nothing in it for IL2. It's been out for nearly two years and they still haven't been arsed. I might try the Ushake-6 as that has proper transducers as opposed to this thing's buzzers but with two huge bass-shakers already mounted to the cockpit floor I'm not sure why I even bothered with the HF8. Bored I guess. SimHaptic do not work with USB and the HF8. Really, use SSA and ForceFeel in paramater. Then need to higher the vibration power (by default it's too weak). Then you need to configure effects in SSA after starting a module (SSA need to recognize the plane or helicopter you are flying). NLR software is fine, but way much effects managed by SSA. And NEVER install NLR software AND SSA at the same time. Just be sure to have only one of the two installed. They conflict each others. 1 06th Multirole Helicopter Regiment Bataillon d'hélicoptères de combat - Escadrille FENNEC

Engine effects tends to dilute things, so it´s usually very low on my settings, because it´s of course working all the time once startup is done. Besides, SSA got a tick for having full engine effects on ground, but reduced airborne. The shakers didn't get hot, the heat was caused solely by the plastic material. I was testing it in IL2 with SSW. I have two big bass-shakers on the cockpit floor (they weren't turned on) and the seats buzzers were never going to compete with those anyway. veloce Posted February 21 Posted February 21 (edited) Hey, for those of you, who like me had difficulties to get the Next Level Racing HF8 haptic seat pad working with the actual HFS Software. Here is how I got it working. My setup is not in english, so i hope i get a proper translation of all the steps. If not, please feel free to correct me. I had the follwing problem: The pad worked perfectly in other games (e.g. racing, other flight Simulator), but not in DCS. Although the NLR support responded very quickly, they couldn't offer a proper solution. It neither worked with 3rd party software. So finally the solution: I had to change/define the "Game Settings" in the HFS-Software. There you need to fill in the correct IP-address and the correct port-number. In my case the IP-address is 127.255.255.255 and the port-number is 29375. Seems like it's always this port and ip-address. But in case it's not the same. Here are my steps to get these information in Windows 11: 1) start the command prompt in Windows, to do so type in "cmd" in the search field of Windows and press enter. Leave the new window open and 2) start DCS and start a random flight, When you're airbone go to the next step 3) change back to the command prompt via "Alt + Tab" 4) in the command prompt type in: "netstat -anop udp" You get a list of all processes (listed as "PID" [process ID]) listening or communicating to various IP-addresses/ports. 5) Identify the correct "PID" that stands for DCS. You can get this Information from Windows Task Manager: 6) Open the Task Manager (e.g. right click on the "Windows bar" or press "ctrl + alt + del" and then select Task Manager) 7) go to processes, then do a right click on DCS (in the process list) and click on "change to details" [not absolutely sure what's called in english, sorry] 8 ) now theres a column called "PID" look for the PID corresponding to DCS (in my case 63436) 9) get back to your netstat-list in the command prompt and look in the udp connection list (typically at the end of the list) for the entry corresponding to your DCS-PID (see step 7): in my case the line was like "UDP 0.0.0.0:63895 127.255.255.255:29375 63436 10) there you have to remember/write down the ip-address (in my case 127.255.255.255) and the port-number (in my case 29375 [the number behind the colon in step 9]) 11) now you have to fill in these information in the HFS Software 12) open HFS, left click on "DCS World" in HFS 13) in the next window left click on "Game Settings" 14) replace the IP Address and Port Number with the information from Step 10 and click on "Configure" 15) make sure you have selected at least one of the effects (e.g Landing Gear, Flaps, G-Force) 16) I believe I restarted DCS and then the pad worked very well for me and I hope for you too! Thanks for reading and sorry for this amount of text. I hope it is understandable, even if english is not my native language. Perhaps this could help somebody else struggeling with the same problem. Their software is better now ? It was a crap in the past. Only a few effects. 06th Multirole Helicopter Regiment Bataillon d'hélicoptères de combat - Escadrille FENNEC
