oakdown Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 hey, I'm curious if anyone has come across this situation. Basically I have two saitek controllers, One is an older saitek x45, and the other is a saitek cyborg 3d gold - built into an older version of this thing: http://www.simcontrol.co.uk/newheli.htm they are both plugged in usb to my comp... they both show up, Individually in the control setups.. one list for the cyborg (mRVC heli controls), and the other list for the saitek x45... great! I can map buttons to the x45 throttle quadrant hats.. etc.. I can remove the "left, right, up, down" designators for the cyclic control from the x45... BUT... it seems it doesn't actually remove them. the cyborg will fight with the x45, (ie: you bank right, it will pop the cyclic back to center, because the x45 is sitting at center). I've messaged saitek about it, but I was wondering if anyone else has an easier method of disabling the x45's x and y axis output. really I just want to use the x45's throttle quadrant for some extra buttons/hats. but it doesn't have it's own usb input, rather plugging "thru" the joystick part of the x45. any help appreciated.
opformaster Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 You have to save a profile for each for each controller. So if you have a saitek x45 and a saitek cyborg gold, you need to save a profile for each (make sure the proper controllers column is highlighted before you save). The best way to make sure you dont have any conflicts is to clear the all category for each controller (except the KB and mouse) and program the buttons as you see fit. -op4 Rig Specs: AMD FX-60 @ 2.6ghz - DFI Lanparty SLI UT - 4gb Mushkin Redline Ram - WD Raptor 300gb HDD - EVGA 260GTX 940mb - SoundBlaster something Live:P - Samsung 20.1" Syncmaster 204B (Camera) and Shuttle 17" xp17 (Abris & Shkval) Flight Controls: Franken Force CH 568/Logitech Wingman Force 3D Hybrid - CH Pro Throttle - Logitech Momo Wheel Conversion to FFB pedals - Belkin N52

I tried what you suggested. the cyborg I saved to a profile called "cyborg3d" the saitek x45, I cleared it's list and made sure left/right/up/down info wasn't there for the cyclic control, then setup the throttle quad. I saved it, to it's own profile "saitekx45" however when I loaded the game, the cyclic still fights itself.. returning to 0. it's odd I would have hoped removing left right up down info from one controller, would have removed it's ability to have an effect in the game...seems like they still like to fight each other however. thanks for the suggestion though.
ED Team USSR_Rik Posted January 29, 2009 ED Team Posted January 29, 2009 (edited) Maybe stupid question - did you clear axis assignments of Cyborg joystick? Please, see (as example) my screenshot with 3 devices: CH Fighterstick, CH PRO Throttle and Saitek X52. At this moment I removed all axis assignments from both CH devices and use Saitek only. All CH axis don't work in game. Added. Nice flight device! Edited January 29, 2009 by USSR_Rik Men may keep a sort of level of good, but no man has ever been able to keep on one level of evil. Stormin_24 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 (edited) I noticed with my X45 that it has to be the only one loaded in Windows XP, or there may be conflicts... If I want to race, I have to disconnect the X45 then choose my wheel setup... It cannot be removed through the Windows program, it has to be physically disconnected.. Check your setups in Windows Game Controller... If you've got more than one controller, there will be conflicts... At least that's my experience with all of this... I wanted to thank you as well though.. it seems that through your post (mainly the screen-cap) I solved my issue.. you see I wasn't in the submenu for axis controls.. I was on the "all" page and the parameters I was clearing and re-entering was "cyclic left" ---> left "cylic right" ----> right, etc etc... I would clear all those for the saitek x45, and then get frustrated when i'd boot the game and the controls were still enabled.... where clearly the axis page is something different, specifying only the x and y axis....not a left right up down thing. In any case, I have the two sticks playing nice now, so all is good and sorted. cheers!

We'll improve user interface in patch in order to axis assignment will be more evident. Men may keep a sort of level of good, but no man has ever been able to keep on one level of evil.
