AI use of SAB-100/ marker-rockets

I'm trying to get AI aircraft to use smoke-marker rockets and SAB-100 candle-bombs. I've easily got them to hit targets with regular weapons, but they will not use either of the above! -Even when they have these and no other ordnance to choose...

Anyone any ideas?

Are you using the targetting zone for the aircraft?

 

There is a mission in the Deployment Campaign where this is done. Find that mission where you are to destroy the house at night and see how they set it up in there.

[Case]

I made a mission where I had an AI Su-25 drop illumination bombs over a specified area.

 

The task of the Su-25 was set to AFAC and it was loaded with 8 SAB-100 illumination bombs. On the second waypoint a target of category point and 1000m radius was added.

Still not got these (SAB-100/smoke-rockets) to work with the AI; had a look at the campaigns (I haven't flown any of these -I'm busy working as part of the 159th!) to see if anything could be gleaned, but no joy.

Anyone managed to use any of these with AI?

Yes....

 

Set AI Aircraft mission to AFAK

 

Set target area and set to attack a "point"

 

Set the diameter to be within 1000m of your intended center of area to illuminate and that should give you enough illum coverage.

 

Give your aircraft enough time to aquire the target area from the attack Inbound Point (IP)

 

Ensure your aircraft (fixed wing) have the SAB 100 Illumination Bombs loaded

 

Ensure your rotary wing attack aircraft have the S-08M Illumination Rockets
