tank82484 Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 While flying coop missions with my roommate over our LAN connection, the server host is always immortal while the client is not. This happens regardless of the global setting in the option menu of both the host and client and continues to occur even after new missions are created and saved when both of our settings in the gameplay option menu are identical. Also, "enforcing" certain settings and checking the value box in mission options have no effect whatsoever. No matter what combination we try with the settings, nothing has worked. I have read many posts regarding checking/unchecking the global options setting as well as using mission options to enforce multiplayer settings. Therefore I have concluded that enforceing settings in multiplayer is in fact working to some degree for certain people. However, I have also read numerous posts regarding the inability to disable external views in multiplayer so I know that I am not the only frustrated person. Why is the server host always immortal while the client is always mortal? As mission creator and/or server host do I have control over settings for myself and clients or is this simply not true? Help in any form will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help Nick A. Hawkinson
Kurtz Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I host on a regular basis and i can asure you the host is far from immortal. The problem must be in the host config. My thoughts anyhow :)
bigalsunit Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Thanks for the advice. I am curious about that myself as I have read about people enforcing their own settings on clients. In singleplayer all of my settings work but its only when I fly multiplayer that the settings seem to screw up. Is there a config file that you know of where I can double check the host settings?
