BFM Wing Failure Wake Turbulance

Sometimes during hard maneuvering in BFM, if crossing the wake turbulence of another aircraft the wings have a tendency to shear off. In the track file the flaps are down, however this has happened with the flaps up in other instances. Am I exceeding an aircraft limitation or is this a bug?
