DirtyMike0330 Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 Has anyone experimented with turning SMT off while using MT? I'm wondering why ED was so adamant that hyperthreading was turned on for this update. Were they referring mostly to folks with CPUs that have a lower number of cores? fab.13 Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 (edited) Hello, Core i5 10600kf here ( 6 cores ), I disable HT to reduce some Stutter in DCS MT ( but not all stutter... ), I will redo test next patch. In the forum, some people assign DCS MT to physical core to get better experience ( HT on ) And There is already a thread of mine about this subject. So maybe you have to test yourself only if you meet some problem ( some stutter in DCS MT that not exist in DCS ST ) Edited April 6, 2023 by fab.13 1
Nodak Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 Started out with it off, had crashes, turning it off the crashes stopped.

I‘m on a 10900K and was wondering if HT is really that good. Before DCS MT I always had HT off. Joch1955 Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 HT on or off is game specific as to whether it has an impact. In my case (5800x3d, ASUS Crosshair VIII mother board, 5700ti GPU, Win 11), HT on or off has zero impact on performance in DCS MT, so I leave it on. Switching HT on or off only takes a few seconds in BIOS so anyone can quickly check on their own.
