SNAFU Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 (edited) Recently i tried myself with the DCS missioneditor. Till now i was only familar with the IL2 missionbuilder, so this was utterly new to me. When i was ready so far and wanted to test the mission with my friends in multiplayer i noticed the mission file grew up to 11MB. This was too much for multiplayer, cause the transmission time took too long imho. So i started the same mission all over again, but straight without the try and error development, from my first try. Now the same mission, with the same soundfiles, briefings, triggers, units and so on, was only 500kB. So i wonder, what determines the size of a *.miz file? Is this growing caused by the scripting system/ saving system of the editor? What are the usual limits for *.miz files for good online playing? Thanks in advance... PS: At the moment i have some fun/trouble making a small mini-campange around a fictional story line for mulitplaying, but found out, that triggering events is somewhat limited for mulitplayer sessions. But anyhow great editor, but i desperatly miss the the 3D placing system of IL2. ;) Edited February 5, 2009 by SNAFU [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Unsere Facebook-Seite
Nate--IRL-- Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Try renaming it to a *.zip file and have a look at whats inside to see whats taking so much space. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
