I’ve read in several places all 50 of Pakistan’s Block 1 Jeffs will be upgraded to Block 3 standards, although as of March ‘23 none have entered service with the PAF. Are there enough Jeff Enjoyers to make a Block 3 paid upgrade a viable endeavor at some point? I understand my wild ideas are easy to suggest but way, way, way harder to code and release. Probably impossible for many reasons that I’m willfully ignoring, but I thought I’d ask.

(I’m guessing so much will change with the B3 upgrade an in-game B3 Jeff would be a whole new module internally)

Maybe possible but not now. The problem is not coding or manpower. If we gamers could get anything can be coded, we should have already been flying an FF flanker. 

HMD is nothing new to the game, maybe AESA and double pulse missile need some work but not impossible. As for coding I guess even an FF F-35 or J-20 module is doable. The problem is how to get the information needed through a legal and respectful way. And this condition may need some more years to come.

Deka may have some cooperations with official apartment and are trusted and allowed to ask for some document, which is hard for another team, especially an amateur one. If even they are not allowed to get some information with this trust, it only means that if they try, they will lose this trust even if not indicted.

I wish we could see all this features but a block 1 cannot be fully upgraded to block 3 standards for couple reasons. Block 3 uses composites to increase strength and reduce weight of build, this allows for things like the chin hardpoint and ability to carry PL-15 on strengthened wings.

That being said, there are features our JF-17 may get updated with in the future like a HMD, PL-10E HOBS, upgraded MAWS + IR MAWS (from J-10), new datalink and HUD (from J-10) and maybe WS-13E engine. Deka has stated whatever PAF does with their Block 1-2s is possible for us. Not sure about the KLJ-7A AESA as it uses more power and needs more cooling than KLJ-7 on block-1-2, though JF-17B block 2s are said to be getting upgraded with this radar. So we can in theory get a JF-17C *lite*

Personally, I'd be happy with HMD, PL-10E and WS-13E.

An AESA though....

PL-10E, these are most likely additions to our JF-17.

I fly the JF-17 on a famous PvP server and found the engine a bit under powered, so I would love to see a WS-13 engine option for the JF-17. Perhaps some of these features could be enabled or disabled in the DCS special options menu?

It would potentially enable period specific equipment options as well, if the mission was set in the past before certain equipment was available.

Deka intends to add WS-13E with an enable option if it comes to the Block-1/2 fleet.

And yes the RD-93 is severely underpowered lol

I thought the Jeff was going off early access and being finalised. Is it still being upgraded?

The module is leaving EA but irl JF-17s are still being upgraded in ways Deka can add onto their own.

I'm still new to the game having only aged about a month so this whole leaving ea to me sound like "oh, we're never going to touch this aircraft again". 

But you said, they can add new stuff to it even if it changes the experience drastically?

early access merely means not all features are working as intended or as close to as possible, so when leaving EA its like the product is functional. Can still add anything at any point.

Yes its quite interesting, sadly full block 3 is impossible as stated above due to building material/design changes, but we may get a new engine, HMD and PL-10 at some point. AESA would be awesome too but very low odds for that.

True true. But hmd pl10 and ws13 is already heaven for Jeff players, I feel like it's already asking too much. Hopfully not.
