Well I was having issues, but I figured out what I was doing wrong. If you have route following enguaged the Auto Hover won't function. Took me awhile to figure that out. Thought I would post it out here for someone else having the same issue.

Rock on, be strong!

And look on the upper right on the collective stick. Forward=route mode/ middle off/ back=autohover descent

I just wish I could make the route mode "push to hold on" instead of "switchable" so I could have it assigned to a switch on my throttle. Now I have to switch to the on position to turn on, switch back to neutral, then switch back to the on position to switch off.

The autohover descent mode switch is however a push and hold switch which works well with a switch on my throttle.

Can't you program your encoder to send the same keypress when you "unselect" the toggle?

I had the same problem with my X-45 AUX switch as it wants to give a continuous press of the standard key while it is in that switch position which would be the same thing as holding R down on the keyboard, i.e. not what I want.

I had to make a special command that presses R once when I engage it and R again when I exit back to neutral position. However this is not working very well because sometimes the joystick software does something strange and makes the game very very laggy until I move the switch back to neutral.

I really wish ED would give us either a key command for the neutral position of the DESC-ROUTE cyclic switch or even better, a parallel command for ROUTE mode where you had to hold down 'R' the whole time you wanted to be in that mode (much like DESC mode).

Discrete keypresses are absolutely necessary for pitbuilders, unfortunately ED have not chosen to implement them extensively. I hope this will be patched in future versions.
