Winwing orion f-18 grip issue maybe?

I am just wondering because i don't recall if this was a thing.

I have had light use of my WW f-18grip for a couple of months i would estimate about 10-20 hours since i have had it.
I have tightened the ring on the bottom of the grip and put the little screw in there so it's solid but i can still slightly twist the stick like the internal connector rod thingy that comes out of the base, the screw ring turns with it so i guess it's the base.

Is this normal or not? I don't recall that being normal. Might have to contact support as i have had 2 random disconnects in DCS but i am not sure if that was DCS or the base.

Hello,

I noticed mine does the same. With everything tight I could still turn the stick on the Z axis seperate of the base. Hope someone figure it out.

Hello,

I have an Orion 1 stick base, so this may or may not be relevant. I've had mine for about a year and the connection between the f18 grip and the base has occasionally loosened during flight and needed to be tightened. I haven't kept careful track, but I'd estimate about 5 times. While a hassle and frustrating in the moment, it only required retightening (I have found that tightening the sheath while simultaneously applying torsion the opposite direct with the grip produces the best results).

I have not noticed looseness in general, just these infrequent slips where it suddenly loosens. I also have not found using the tension bolt to have discernable effect at preventing these slips.

While not ideal, I personally don't consider this to be a problem, just an inconvenience. If either of you discover a more permanent solution or contact WW, I hope you'll share what you find.

Thanks. It's not the ring thats loose it seems it's the whole base. I am worried about breaking connections in the base. Should I undo the grip ring and try it all again? It only moves a little but enought o do something over time. I have send support a request. I really like the base, i have random disconnects in DCS only no other sim. It only disconnects maybe once in 2-3 hours i have it plugged directly into the pc no hub it's a bit wierd over all, i had the same issue with my old stick too.

Throught it would reply. Winwing just asked to reseat the grip which i did but the second time i unscrewed it i noticed the thread on the base has a indentation which is about the same amount i could move it... so i made sure the black ring was super super tight and in the middle of the indent. Then i made sure the lock screw was in super tight and its back to be being solid again. I think maybe the screw got loose and it was able to move inside the indent.

I had same issue and think perhaps I did not go all the way down on the threads. I reseated and now it is solid.
