EP13 balanced picture?

Hi,

To have a balanced picture, i have to turn the brightness knob full at minimum et then adjust lighty with the contrast knob.

is it normal to have the brightness knob at minimum? If i want to increase this knob the picture become way to bright....

So, how can you obtain a balanced picture without putting this brightness knob at his minimum range?
