FADM Stern GNSF Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I have a question, directed to the design staff here, and hopefully one of you can answer a few questions for me. I use this log file to create a readable event log similar to the one Falcon 4 generates. With the information supplied by this file I have been able to run a converter that shows who killed who as well as calculate players flight time and stats. My question is, are there any plans to add to what is output to this file, specifically game triggers or some form of "mission complete" data. While the triggers in the editor can be used to display a message in game (for some reason, only the host gets it), this file does not contain any trigger event data. If there are no plans to add anything to this file, then I will have to make due with what is already there, but if there is a chance more stuff will be added to it, it would be a great asset :-) Thank you Try the Rest, then Join the Best
EvilBivol-1 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 (edited) Without discussing the specifics of what and when, yes, ED would like to expand the events exported through the debriefing log. No promises on this one. Are you aware of TacView? http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=36883 Edited February 9, 2009 by EvilBivol-1 - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. FADM Stern GNSF Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 (edited) Thanks very much for the answer, as just knowing that it is being considered is great :-) This file, while it may bug many others, is an invaluable tool for me and the organization. Sure makes reports a lot easier :-) Yes, I tried Tacview, but didnt give me what i wanted. I prefer the log file, as a player can cut and paste the whole thing into our reporting page, the system converts it and enters all the data for the player (kills, hits, damage, flight time, weapons fired and accuracy, player and plane status, etc). All that is missing now is some form of outcome flag, then the players outcome could be automatically calculated too. Edited February 9, 2009 by FADM Stern GNSF Try the Rest, then Join the Best
