mR.Waffles Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 As I've never played a Copter sim before, I would like to know if I can order a printed manual since I paid for a digital copy of the game. I don't want to print a 350 page PDF!
Acedy Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 A printed manual is going to be released. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] *** SERVMAN SERVER MANAGEMENT MOD V2 FOR DCS:BS V1.0.1 *** *** VERSION FOR FC2 ***
muttclugg Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I spent most of the yesterday afternoon printing the manual! The printer tray didn't even hold enough paper for the whole job. This means that this evening after sorting out the multi monitor support I'll be binding the manual in chapters I think.
JDski Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Let us know how many printer cartridges you use. I thought about having Kinko's do one, but it was like a couple hundred bucks.
Airway Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 The printed release of the manual contains additional stuff that is not included in the .pdf files, so don't waste ink where 10 ml are more expensive than 25 liters of gasoline. ;)
RapidllBlade Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I printed some of the manual out on my laser. This is section 2 only ... RB

I am assuming that they are either; a) giving everyone a free printed manual (I know this is not likely to happen - just making a point) b) updating the pdf files to include the content so we can download them. RapidllBlade Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 (edited) Well, $8.00 for 500 pages of paper and some toner - I think I will recover from the financial strain. So what is in the new content? Is it available right NOW so I can use it? Are they GIVING us a free copy of the printed manual? I doubt the printed manual will be free and I strongly doubt it will be very cheap - certainly not as cheap as printing it myself. RB Edited February 9, 2009 by RapidllBlade
JDski Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Not all of us have access to printers that use the more economical toner carts. I think I converted the price of the manual to around $55 USD. If that's near what it would cost me in HP printer carts, I would rather wait for the neater pre organized manual that might have extra content and maybe even color. It would be nice to have the manual now though while I'm still learning everything.

Amuro Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I printed it double sided using the laser at work. The toner ran out just before finishing last 5 pages or so, and it cost $50 to replace the toner at a nearby stationary store. You used an entire toner to print the manual - or it was already getting low? That is a lot of toner if it used the entire toner cartridge. RB

RB Already printed a couple hundred A4 pages using that toner before starting on the manual. muttclugg Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Printed mine on a Laser jet. It used a fair bit of ink but the printer doesn't get used much (the cartridges in it are from 2005)
mR.Waffles Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 How much would it take to get Kinkos to do it while we wait for an official release?
Reoze Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Anywhere from 75-250 bucks depending on what kind of paper you want. It's not worth it.
pbsmgm Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Does anyone have a rough idea when the printed manual will be released. I would buy one in a heartbeat vs everyone's claim that printing it is just as good...sure, yea right. Asus X99 II, i7-6850k, GTX 1080, 32GB RAM, M.2/SSD Drives, Win10-64
mR.Waffles Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 Forget Kinkos then, I can't pay that much.

mR.Waffles Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 You should print one for me at work and mail it :D
Airway Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Yeah, and then get booted :D Well, discussion is useless everything about the printed manual and it's additional stuff is written in the faq and the forums here.

Yea but we can't cuddle up to the forum here when we go to bed and wake up with drool all over it.:book: mR.Waffles, I checked with Kinkos and it's was like $200 just for black and white. Close to that anyways at 9 cents a page. Now that was for all manuals but still it was just too much.
