Lange_666 Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 Maybe i'll get me a Pico 4 to replace my Rift-S (cable died). I have a question about the link cable for the Pico 4. I see that there are 2 types, one with charging port and one without. At first glance one with charging port is more interesting but reading through the comments i read that it does not always work that well. Are there any Pico 4 owners who use such a cable and what are your findings? Example Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S, Elgato Streamdeck XL. Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!
Qcumber Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 I just use WiFi connection and the supplied usb cable to charge. I have an angled usb c adaptor so that keeps the cable flush and velcro cable ties to secure the cable to the headset. This keeps the Pico 4 fully charged whilst I play. 9800x3d - rtx5080 FE - 64Gb RAM 6000MHz - 2Tb NVME - Quest Pro (previous rift s and Pico 4). Afghanistan – Channel – Cold War Germany - Kola - Normandy 2 – Persian Gulf - Sinai - Syria - South Atlantic. BF-109 - FW-190 A8 - F4 - F5 - F14 - F16 - F86 - I16 - Mig 15 - Mig 21 - Mosquito - P47 - P51 - Spitfire.
crispy12 Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Not sure what you mean about the link cable, but I use a regular USB-C data for mine to keep it charged. I run it via Virtual Desktop (wirelessly). The other way to run it is by Streaming Assistant but the streaming quality is worse. It supports a cabled connection but I suspect most people are using VD to play.
