Hey Reflected,

thanks for your wonderful campaigns! I really enjoyed them so far.

But I have a problem with mission 5:

The bombers appear ca. 5 minutes before they should. I can see their trails but no script triggers. Ca. 5 minutes later I got the scripted audio and the hole flight turns back to england. No bombers, no enemys. Nothing. We're at the right time at the R/V.

Also my flight lead gets shot by flak - instand kill...

 

Btw. I have the same problem with the P-51 Blue Nose campaign mission 3. No bombers appear (as well no enemys), but I got the scripted audio that we can see them. Right time at R/V.

 

I'm on open beta (MT) and only mod is kneeboard maps for P-47 & P-51.

Hi, thanks for the report.

I checked the mission, and it works fine for me. Everything is in order. It does sound a lot like a mod-induced bug, especially if the same glitch happens in a totally separate mission. Are you definitely sure you don't have any planes/ assets/ ships/ personnel / anything installed somewhere?

I'd also try to run a repair, and maybe try it in ST also.

No other mods besides kneeboard checklist for P-47 & P-51.

 

I switched from stable to open beta during the campaigns (via Steam). Maybe that screwed something up. I will run a repair and also try ST and let you know!

...and one question: is it correct, that my flight is immortal to my gun fire (Blue Nose campaign, mission 3)? I was bored because no enemys showed up and tried some shooting.

Quick Update: after a repair of the installation everything is working! I think it was the switch from stable to open beta... will stay there from now on 🙂

 

Annoying: the P-51 fuel bug with drop tanks (from 2014???) is still present, at least in Blue Nose on Normandy 2.0.

One last questtion: is there an eta for the wrong airfield frequencies on Normandy 2.0?

Right now I go to ME before every mission and change them. Could this break something?

Next OB update. No you can't break the mission with it.

I flew mission 5 last night and had issues with the AI.  The 4 German fighters we are supposed to engage with fly full throttle towards the channel in front of the bombers.  They outrun the bombers almost to England before turning home.  My flight and I could never catch them...it was very strange.  Is there an effective way to get ED's attention on these kinds of things?  I know you have identified these issues to them numerous times but the issues after the last update make it almost impossible to play it.  Since the last update my computer crashes every time I play The Big Show and Bodney...I am unable to finish a mission.  The crashes happen about half way through the missions.  This happens with both ST and MT.  The Normandy map is awesome, and MT shows a lot of promise, but I might have to check out IL2 to get my fix...it's a damn shame.

Run a repair on your DCS and make sure you have no mods installed. I've never seen those Germans behave like this.

Also, I can only tell the AI to engage or not engage. How to engage is up to the core code. This is why it's important to make sure nothing messes with the core code, such as mods or a corrupted install - which a repair should solve.
