johnb263 Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Hi, I'm on mission 12 of the campaign, which I'm really enjoying - but, after the latest stable, standalone (not steam, not multiplayer) update earlier this week that includes the new arc 210 radio, I cannot get any communications going with the wing man. Seems like the Lavan tower works OK (using the new radio at 141.6am - I need to set fm, not am), but tuning the middle radio to 260am for the wing man does not work. Cannot hear myself, and cannot hear the wing man. Mission will not proceed from waypoint 2, wing man just keep circling. So basically the campaign is defunct, it seems. It's not a sound issue, everything else seems to be in working order. This is not using the MT executable, just the regular one - I tried MT, same problem, plus a few others. Also tried mission 11, same problem. I also tried another campaign, a10c iron flag part 1, mission 1. All frequencies work in this mission (there are 9, UHF/AM/FM). I used all three radios without any issues. I did a dcs repair before testing again. While I'm flying VR, I tried with regular 2D flatscreen and it also makes no difference. Attached track of Mission 11 (scud alley), takeoff to WP2 demonstrating tower but no wingmen... Also system specs. Apologies for the long post, I wanted to make sure all information is there in case I'm doing something wrong - great campaign, want to fly missions! Any workaround will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance DxDiag.txt tempMission.miz.trk

Thanks in advance DxDiag.txt 103.48 kB · 1 download tempMission.miz.trk 17.74 MB · 0 downloads I'll need to do some checking, there were some issues with the new radio, these got resolved pretty quickly in open beta but need to make sure all the fixes made it to stable. And just to check are you still using the UHF radio for wingman Comms? this is the old radio not the new one, wingman Comms won't work on the arc 210 as the Comms are all programed to work with the UHF. johnb263 Posted May 11, 2023 Author Posted May 11, 2023 (edited) Thx for the quick reply :- yes, by “middle radio” i meant the old radio below the arc 210. I found some post where it was mentioned the Arc210 couldn’t be used for Wingman comms in this campaign Edited May 11, 2023 by johnb263

I found some post where it was mentioned the Arc210 couldn’t be used for Wingman comms in this campaign Yes that's right, this is the guidance I put out for the campaign: Due to the way the campaign was originally programmed you will always need to observe the following rules: - All Comms listed as VHF AM should be done through the ARC 210 radio. - All Comms listed as UHF should be done through the original UHF radio. Do not use the ARC 210, the mission will not detect UHF frequencies on this radio. - The VHF FM radio is unchanged. I'll download stable and check it over, see what's going on. I'll get back to you soon as possible. Edited May 11, 2023 by ChillNG
johnb263 Posted May 11, 2023 Author Posted May 11, 2023 Thanks a stack ChillNG. Avoiding openBeta since “xr neck safer” is broken with native openxr, and really I cannot turn my head 100 deg looking down without injuring myself. Btw neither voiceattack or neck safer was running during the tests

Btw neither voiceattack or neck safer was running during the tests Ok just did a really quick, short test on M12 on stable branch. Got airborne and was asked to set the UHF radio for Gunman, which I did and all worked ok. I used the UHF radio, set for 260 and on manual as well as preset and Ch2. Both triggered the initial comms from Davy. Have you got any other mods installed at all?
ChillNG Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Also just watched the track, on both stable and OB. The issue was the radio setting, you had it set to 260 but still on preset mode (with preset 1 selected). When I took control and flicked the switch to MAN, the radio started working.
johnb263 Posted May 12, 2023 Author Posted May 12, 2023 Ah Ok. I never use presets so did not notice this - the default setting must have changed. That also explains the "1" on the front left uhf display, which looked suspicious. Thanks for the effort, appreciated. Radios works fine, as you say. Just got downed twice, so everything must be OK otherwise. Thanks for the great support, and apologies for wasting your time
