REL Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Manual page 272 : "CAUTION! It is not advised to move the Engine/APU selector switch from one engine to another before the first engine has reached idle power." So what is the "idle power" with one engine ?
opformaster Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 I believe the turbine Idle RPM is around 6k, the needle (numbered 1) will stop climbing on the tachometer. Each turbines RPM is indicated by its own numbered needle. -op4 Rig Specs: AMD FX-60 @ 2.6ghz - DFI Lanparty SLI UT - 4gb Mushkin Redline Ram - WD Raptor 300gb HDD - EVGA 260GTX 940mb - SoundBlaster something Live:P - Samsung 20.1" Syncmaster 204B (Camera) and Shuttle 17" xp17 (Abris & Shkval) Flight Controls: Franken Force CH 568/Logitech Wingman Force 3D Hybrid - CH Pro Throttle - Logitech Momo Wheel Conversion to FFB pedals - Belkin N52
GGTharos Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Once RPM stabilizes at around 70% IIRC (there's no such thing as '6k') 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
opformaster Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 @GG You are correct, Sir:music_whistling:. I just look down at my tach and when I see its past the 6 ( I was just assuming it was by thousands) I switch over to the right engine. Sorry for the erroneous info  -op4 Rig Specs: AMD FX-60 @ 2.6ghz - DFI Lanparty SLI UT - 4gb Mushkin Redline Ram - WD Raptor 300gb HDD - EVGA 260GTX 940mb - SoundBlaster something Live:P - Samsung 20.1" Syncmaster 204B (Camera) and Shuttle 17" xp17 (Abris & Shkval) Flight Controls: Franken Force CH 568/Logitech Wingman Force 3D Hybrid - CH Pro Throttle - Logitech Momo Wheel Conversion to FFB pedals - Belkin N52
VIKBELL Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 The selector is for the stater and the light exstingushes before the engine is at idle. 1 There are 2 categories of fighter pilots: those who have performed, and those who someday will perform, a magnificent defensive break turn toward a bug on the canopy. ARM505 Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Just look at the green 'Start' or 'Valve' light (can't remember, something like that) just below the selector switch - once that's out, you can switch over. Sorry, not reading enough: like Vikbell said. Funny sig there Vikbell, so true! Or in our case, defensive break turns towards a spot on the monitor.
