cw4ogden Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 Any smart people want to hypothesize why mixed reality would kill my internet speeds? I’ve been bitching at my internet people for months, and turns out it wasn’t them at all. It sounds like some bull<profanity>, but it’s definitely mixed reality, and or combination of mixed reality and dcs. I get 24 mbs normally. Booting up DCS and mixed reality drops it to 1mbs or less, with unplayable pings. It doesn’t happen in the startup until the moment mixed reality launches. And it clears once I close mixed reality. Bluetooth is off to rule out interference. And lastly, every so often it boots just fine, no slowdown. My procedure to play DCS is now to reboot over and over while checking internet speed, until I get a lucky boot up. Thanks all.
Strong05 Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 This is a bit of a long shot but you might try searching on youtube for TechYesCity's windows optimization video (he has one for 10 and 11). It's like a 10 or 20 minute video of him going through all the settings and turning off all of the bloat. Worst case you have a faster PC at the end best case it resolves your problem. 1 5800X3d, 32GB DDR4@3400, 6800 xt, Reverb G2, Gunfighter/TMWH
Mk1_Trebuchet Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 Sounds like a driver conflict to me. Try turning off Wifi and going over the wire to see if the same thing happens. (you don't explicitly say you're going over the air, but 24 mbps doesn't sound like copper) If the wire doesn't give the same symptoms, search out new/different drivers for your wifi adapter. (and/or try a different Wifi adapter i.e. a USB NIC) Long shot, but it's something to try. 1 Asrock X870E Nova - AMD 9800x3d - RTX 4090 - 64GB DDR5 - (2x) Crucial T705 - Varjo Aero
