Guest Posted May 29, 2023 Posted May 29, 2023 Hi there, does anyone know if it is possible make an object (that is hidden on map in ME) become visible on the map during the mission, say when a unit flies over it? I have experimented with 'Fog of War' but the units remain hidden on the map despite flying over them in daylight hours. I have made a trigger/zone so that when a unit flies into it, it leaves a mark on the map, but it's not quite the same. Thanks in advance of any help you can give. '52
cfrag Posted May 29, 2023 Posted May 29, 2023 I did not try this, but it may be worth a shot: instead of making objects hidden on the map, simply make them 'late activate', and then, when a unit flies into the trigger zone, activate the group. At that point it should appear on the map. 2
104th_Money Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 @Gunslinger52 Sorry for late reply, was searching something else and happened upon this post. With Fog of War and Visual Recon Mode enabled, if you go into Visual Recon Mode and click when you are looking at the targets from your aircraft, it gives a bullseye call and then shows the units on F10 map. If there are alot of units to view, you may need to click in the target vicinity multiple times to recon all targets, only the first recon gives a bullseye coordinate. Other than that, if you are not specifically trying to use Fog of War/Visual Recon mode then what cfrag said as far as late activation with aircraft in trigger zone to spawn would be the easiest way. 1 Intel i9-13900k, Asus Z790-E Gaming Wi-fi 2 motherboard, 64gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR5-6400 RGB ram 2x32gb XMP2 profile, 4TB Crucial T700 PCIE 5.0 SSD internal, 2TB Crucial T700 PCIE 5.0 SSD internal, Asus ROG Strix OC GeForce RTX 4090, Corsair 7000X Case with 5 x 120mm side mounted intake fans and 3 x 140mm top mounted exhaust fans, 1 x 140mm rear mounted exhaust fans, front mounted Corsair H150i Elite Capellix 360mm liquid cooler w/Elite LCD with 6 x 120mm fans in 3 push, 3 pull intake configuration, 1 x 32" Samsung 3840x2160 display, 1x 32" Asus 2560x1440 display, TrackIR5 w/pro clip, Thrustmaster Warthog stick and throttle, CH Fighterstick Pro and Pebble Beach Velocity pedals.
PravusJSB Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 Only AI sensors can paint onto F10, human sensors don't sadly. If you want to cheat and allow a reveal of the FoW in certain area's I posted up my simple and very cheaty method for doing that on someones similar post a few months back. I think maybe I included code, idk. Creator & Developer of XSAF ::An AI model that wants to kill you, and needs no help from humans.
