As Tenkom alluded to, there is an enormous amount of functionality tied to the mfds. Going through the in-game training is a good starting point. I highly recommend reading through Chuck's guide which has pictures and step-by-step instructions for whatever you're trying to do. From there, there's a lot of youtube videos you can search for and drill down into specific tasks that you might need help with, for example, getting the most out of the radar.
