BaronVonVaderham Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 Hey guys, I’m stuck with my pc build. I mistakenly got the thermaltake view 37 argb, and it’s not really working out. The biggest constraints I have are the arctic liquid freezer Ii 360 argb aio, and the rtx 4080 gpu. I thought the case was big enough, but the aio tubes are cramped and hamper gpu installation. I can only mount the gpu vertically (horizontally doesn’t fit because of the aio, and the aio can only be placed next to the mobo, not at the front as the tubes are too short for that). The case comes with a bracket but the card is soo thick it pushed against the acrylic window and thus doesn’t get any air circulation. I’m also disappointed with the case for other reasons, for example, the argb fans included cannot be speed controlled. There’sa couple of options left: 1) a bracket that uses all pcie slots for vertical mounting, but I’m not guaranteed that will fix the gpu fit. 2) Mount the radiator in front of the mobo panel and the fans behind the mobo panel. I won’t be able to see any of the rgb, but the gpu might fit the pcie slot. I will have to orient the tube ports on the radiator up, which will cause gorgelling over time. 3) Mount the fans in front of the mobo panel and the radiator on the back. Probably the tubes won’t reach far enough when I install the gpu in the pcie slot. 4) a new case: this one is hard as well as I want a nice looking case, good airflow, and top mounting for the aio I have. and not 500€. i considered the ah t600, but I don’t think my aio will fit. I like the fractal north (I saw a build that fits in a 4090 with my aio), but thermals will be poor. The coolermaster c600 series is nice but way too expensive. I dont like Lian li. The nzxt h7 flow might be an option, but not sure my aio fits on top. sooo, bit at a loss…
TinyDancer Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 I have a Corsair 5000D. It houses the 3090 with a 360 radiator with ease. The the 360 is top mounted, and with six intake fans in the front/side of the case, there is plenty of room for the 3090 FTW3. AMD 5800X3D | 3090 FTW3 | 64GB RAM | NVMe | Winwing Orion 2 | TrackIR 5
Chump Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 @BaronVonVaderham May I ask why you don't like Lian Li cases? I've found them to be quite nice. I've only had one, so I'm not a brand pusher. Just curious why the exclusion.
BitMaster Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 Tho I ain't using internal radiators the case I am using could do so. Plenty space for rads and GPU and good cable management and overall quality. https://phanteks.com/Enthoo-Evolv-X.html Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus XG27ACG QHD 180Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X

jskibo Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 (edited) Just did a new build with a 4090 and an EK 360 AIO (top mount) in a Lian Li Lan Cool III. Lots of room and pretty tidy management in the back Edited June 10, 2023 by jskibo
BaronVonVaderham Posted June 10, 2023 Author Posted June 10, 2023 Just wanted to give everyone some feedback on my progress, and express my thanks for suggestions made by all I managed to cramp my components in the case I had. I'm still working on getting new fans installed. Just to clarify my configration: - 1 Coolermaster 140mm argb fan in the back - 3 chinese brand argn reverse fans on the front for the aio (I would have preferred thermalright fans, or some other reputable brand, like coolermaster, but alas, none are available on the market. They exist, just not available). - 3 Arctic argb fans that came with the aio on the inside of the case (mostly for aesthetic reasons, I don't really need push AND pull fans for the aio - 3 arctic regular fans on the side - 1 coolermaster argb reverse fan on the bottom. I might get a second one if ne becomes available FYI, I use the regular arctic fans and the reverse coolermaster to build up pressure inside the case. Not sure this will work well because teh side mounted arctics don't have much gaps to blow through, and they are close to the aio that sucks the air out immediately. So if things still get hot, I might have to change cases after all... So far, without playing DCS yet, the cpu stays at a cool 30-34 degrees C...
