DCS Bios, op202i OLED, and me

Hey guys! So i'm trying to tackle my CMDS panel for my F-16 build. I successfully was able to get a standard 16x2 LCD screen to work for the CMDS flare and chaff counter however I cannot get it to fit in the panel so I bought an op202i from widehk. 

I am however unable to get the screen to show anything legible. I did find some information on the SSD1311 driver and a library but it's still not displaying anything legible, even just "hello world" is garbled. Github for SSD1311 library

If anyone could lend me their brain, that would be most wonderful as I'm running around in circles at this point. Thank you!
