What causes FLCS BIT test to fail?

When cold starting the FLCS BIT test instantly fails immediately after flipping the switch. It seems to be entirely random and I've tried all sorts of things,

full stick and rudder inputs, FLCS reset switch, etc. It seems to happen 50% of the time no matter what I do before hand or when I flip the switch during startup. Sometimes I have to flip the switch 2-3 times before the run light comes on, the fail light stays on and I get a FLCS caution and WARN on the hud, every now and again the PFLD will turn on as well and the F-ACK button seems to do nothing. Eventually the FLCS BIT test will run and pass regardless. Not sure if this is just because FLCS failures are still WIP or if this is normal. Any insight would help.

Hold the switch up for a second rather than just throwing it. If the switch doesn't stay outboard while bit runs, it'll fail.

It holds magnetically, but you need to give it a second.
