I am like every person of age, We hate change after getting use to something for so long. LOL I am old sorry. So To Start with I will tell Eagle Dynamics DCS World Thank You for your upgrade to my beloved Huey. Please this is a BIG deal I have been one that has let my desires for a upgrade to the Huey rum my mouth from time to time. I am Fine with saying Thank You and Congratulation form Myself I like It. I need to learn how to Fly it again. If something is out of center with it I am not qualified to say. I will Do my best to relearn it as I am finding the Descending power requirements and stopping to a slow speed at high altitude to be way different then before. I see a lot of people saying Left rudder Rotor input is far to extreme at a hover - low speed on the ground. I have No Idea if this is true so I just work it with the Cyclic to get a more left turn ability and it works. Regardless of If and What may need tweaked. I am Happy to have a UpDate that has fixed small and large things we have all talked about for a long time. I like how I need to go from Left Rudder input to Right Rudder input at increased Speeds. I have to learn how to keep from Ballooning UP with power increase and forward speed. Still working on it all but Enjoy it very much. Sometimes I feel like I need to stop and enjoy it more even if it is not 100% it is a Good Update and WAY better then No Update. I like what I see I just need to Learn it better now. If you know of any Real Huey Pilots that fly DCS post a link to a New Update Video I would Love to see what they are saying. Thanks E.D.

Very strange event happened the other day in my "Hell Of A Day At Sea" Mission As I approached the Oil Platform with the sling load of repair parts. I was using the shortest sling and I was above the Oil Rig in perfect position. Just as I was ready to hit the Hover point with forward movement (New engine Power will Balloon you up in Altitude as you slow down requiring you to pull the Huey nose up and giving - collective) but not so much as to drop in Altitude and still moving Forward. I fell Straight Down like a rock to Sea Level. I pulled up on the Collective to almost Full Up position. I was not in Vortex ring state the huey was still moving forward just enough to give good correction to line up to the center of the drop zone. My Altitude ballooning was under control and had equalized out to 0 level. So I'm thinking on the way down I'm DEAD. But No? I got to Sea Level and it stopped into a hover when it hit the Ram Cussion of Ground Effect from the Water level. I understand a Track file would be helpful but I was into the mission to about 30min at this time. Way to big to do any good. I'm no Helicopter Pilot and will keep working to find another way to deal with this till more tweaks are made to the Huey Engine and flight model. Anyone had this happen to them? It was a Straight Down Flat fall too. It should of hit the water and blew up and I was shocked it did Not. Also NOT ONE alarm Went off the Entire Time of any of this event. I pulled up Collective hard and fast. That alone should of set off an alarm.

I have had this issue several times now, but all mine have resulted in crashes. I have now crashed three times in the last three times flying it, I haven't crashed prior to this mod since I first started learning to fly the Huey. I am all for real feel and behaviors, but from everything I am reading this isn't the case.

For now I am giving up flying the Huey and am moving onto learning another helicopter. it is a shame because I have loved flying it, but I do not like negative training. Once these issues are fixed I will return, hopefully soon. I have tried reverting to the old mod through FMOptions, but I haven't been able to get it to work.

I can understand that. Been thinking of jumping into another one myself.
