l think we are misunderstanding each others  :music_whistling::D

I never finished mission one but for some reason it thinks I did. Now, I try to reset the campaign without changing pilots and it wont reset. I will try changing pilots, but I think it is a little bit overkill to have to change pilot in order to replay mission one because I suck and I keep hovering in range of those tanks

Beside, I think it is now on mission 4 ?! Something about taking off from a FARP ?!

I never did mission 2 or 3 but what happened is that, on the runway, realising I was not in the correct mission, I quited the game. That would be a bug :)

Ho, and on mission one, the friends and ennemies field is the same. That is, Canada is listed has my friend and has my ennemie. But I figured out quickly who was the ennemy when the heat started comming my way :joystick:

Anyone else try my experimental campaign and can give me some feedback?

I'm waiting on my new joystick to continue playing but I can confirm that if you start a game, then exit it, it will think you finished the mission. So, if for some reason you start the game, then exit because your wife *arrives home*, you have to create a new pilot and restart it.

I tried the first 2 missions and it looks good so far. Once I have a good joystick i'll be back in the air.

Sounds good Vesperatus. The starting over has to do with the point system which I hadn't mastered at the time and stlll haven't but I understand it better now.

Dave, by all means, have at it and please leave me feedback, both good and bad. Keep in mind that I didn't use the point system on this particular campaign so heed what Vesperatus said about it.

My next campaign will have point system to use so will flow much better. Fly this one, one mission at a time and not as a campaign if you must.

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to fly the campaign and let me know the goods and bads.

Dusty:

I only had time to fly the first mission (I hope I'm updated correctly, it might be helpful to make an up-to-date pack).

What hit me immediately is the fact that insurgents (guys who mostly use guerilla tactics, ambushes and so on), move openly on the road. Also they got armor. But obviously without it the whole scenario would be very silly and a simple insurgent hunt so I understand that point. If you reason out how they got the armor (stolen from the enemy?), I'm good with that. Also I believe that the player's side is a bit overpowered ? 4 Sharks ? Vulcans and Avengers ? (I know those are static) Good but maybe a bit too much for 2 columns of mostly infantry ?

The mission definitely needs more "adrenaline". To feel a bit underpowered to prompt you make fast decisions, the "must-not-arse-it-now" feeling, you know ? :-)

With more "rush" a definitely good start for a campaign.

Will look into it further after work.

...well someone has to move the mud!!!

That is just the feed back I am looking for. Thank you so much for taking the time to play the campaign.

The insurgents are fed by the Russians in my scenario but I didn't lay out the whole geo political background that much. I will in the future to make it seem as it plays. Play thru the rest of the missions and give me more feedback if you can. It is appreciated. I am learning more and more tricks of this Mission Builder so I hope my next effort, with you guys feedback, will be a good one. I am already mapping out the next effort.

Dusty,

I'm into mission 4. So far I agree with Rhino4's comments.

The .CMP file isn't working properly and the campaign started with the second mission. Mission One never ran. Also, the file names have no connection with the mission titles in the briefings, which becomes confusing when trying to reference a particular mission to its file. I edited each briefing title to include its file number for now. That made things clearer. The second and third missions have the same title and briefing. Two is correct. Three needs to be changed. Those are the big items as far as campaign operation.

All in all I like the missions, there settings and the potential for a good story. When the briefings and background story are fleshed out I think this will be a very good campaign.

Having a little experience writing my own missions I know how much effort it takes to crank something useful out of the mission editor. Nice work. Please finish this campaign. It's sorely needed.

Additional info.

All of the text in the "red" task box of each mission in the Mission Editor doesn't display in the campaign mission briefings. You need to place that text in the "blue" task box for it to display

Also, you have several instances of text that should be in the Description Box mixed in with text in the Task Box. The Description box is for mission "background" info. The task box is for specific mission "instructions".

The .cmp file isn't working correctly. You stated that it was to allow each mission to proceed one after the other. See the .cmp file in the Vergeev Group Demo: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=49490

to see how that is set up.

Good luck.

Dusty,

I finished all of the missions. The only thing I didn't like was the number of enemy units in each mission, especially ground troops. The numbers of all units was a little overwhelming for the ka-50 weapons loads and it also became a little arcade like shooting all of them.

I edited the missions to make total enemy units and weather (visibility) more manageable. I also edited the mission goals so that the campaign would play through OK. Although, the campaign still fails it you get killed. Which is realistic, but frustrating. I'm just learning to edit the mission goals, so these are simple examples. Attached is a zipfile. Hope this gives you some ideas for future missions.
