A very basic question - with so many peripherals now - winwing etc - is there anyway to rule them and in the darkness bind them 🙂 - I have multiple usb hubs connected through a single cable to the PC - with some peripherals coming on with power from usb and/or from hub - I would like to switch them all off when not using without having to unplug the USB cable.

How about switchable USB hubs?

Just google it, they even are available without a power supply line.

My hubs have a power switch on the side. If you don't have that then maybe try these?

If they're all powered hubs, plug the power supplies into one multi-way extension and turn that on and off as required.

You need to be careful with that. Some powered hubs will deactivate themselves when you turn off the power supply. The cheaper ones will continue working as an unpowered hub. Not only does that not solve OP's problem, if he has powered hubs because his devices draw more power than the port can supply then he's going to get erratic behaviour at best.
