Has anyone been able to add the mode switch as a modifier in the in game controls screen? Also, has anyone been able to get their rotary switch(s) to work?

In the case of the former, I've discovered that buttons 9, 10 and 11 are not detected when move the mode switch. However in the SD6 profile editor my mode switch works without a hitch.

In the case of the latter, using either the in game controls or the SD6 doesn't help at all.

The reason why I'm trying to get away from using the SD6 is that my shkval movement is extremely slow (mapped to my hat button 1) and some times when I press a button the game gets really slow and fps goes down to 9 -10, until I let go of the button.

Any ideas?

I have and use the X-45 and yet I do not understand exactly what you mean by "rotary switch." Do you mean the Rotory1 and Rotory2 axes or the M1/M2/M3 switch?

It would help if you would describe exactly what controls in the game you want to affect with what joystick buttons.

I too have experienced severe software slowdown with certain Profiler actions, namely latched commands and advanced macros. I put my AP Route mode command on my AUX.1 switch and it often slows down only when I have the switch in the Route position (very annoying). I found that when it starts happening to close and reapply the profile made the slowdown go away but it is really annoying.

My overall suggestion is to, wherever possible, bind the joystick keys and axes directly in the game and not through the profile-keystroke-game roundabout method. For instance you can bind Shkval directly to the Hat#1 and would have the best performance.

I found the best method for my X45 was to copy the collective from the real thing and bind the mode and aux switches to be the Shval zoom and designator box size.

My query with the rotaries is why is it not possible to bind zoom the them? I used this in LOMAC as I do not have TIR and it worked well.

Also I found for slewing the Schval, the ministick on the throttle works better than the HAT. It’s less realistic as the real thing has the slew controls on the cyclic but I found it a better fit.

I have been able to set up all of the above without using the profiler software at all. All my binds are through the game menu.

So how did you get to configure your rotary axis? Because when I go into the 'optoins' menu the "Axis Tune" button is greyed out.

Also, since you are not using the SD6 and all in game controls, are you able to use your mode switch to act like a modifier? So that you can have 3 different actions chained to a button depending on what mode you have selected on your throttle stick?

Unfortunately no, the game does not have the functionality to allow the mode switches to act as modifiers.

Which is fair enough as otherwise the developers would have to dedicate hours upon hours to do that for all sticks, and that’s what the manufacturers software is for.

As far as rotaries go; I can bind them only to certain actions. Unfortunately not the one I want (zoom view). The only ones I can seem to bind them too are things like rudder, collective and pitch/bank; all of which are useless on a rotary.

Thanks for the reply Comieodor. Well that's too bad, thought there was an ideal solution to this.

so what? the rotary works very well at "zoom view" - where´s the problem?

The point being I don't want to use it for a "zoom view", that's the problem. If you're satisfied with the only useful purpose for the rotary axis to act as a zoom view, then you're fine and dandy.

Yes, by rotary switch I mean the rotary axis. Have you been able to bind any controls to your rotary 1 and 2 axis using the SD6 or in game controls?

This is from another thread, short answer is yes!

I don't like to use pre-built profiles for joysticks per se as it involves an unnecessary step in input which is less reliable. Wherever possible I directly bind the joystick button to the command in the game. My setup is:

Trigger - Combined gun/launch (lua edit)

shift Trigger - Gun cycle*

A - Shkval uncage

B - Radio transmit (Teamspeak)*

shift B - Cockpit gauge illumination*

C - Trim

shift C - Auto-hover*

D - Weapon Lock

Mouse fire - Shkval 23x

shift Mouse fire - Shkval 7x (If you want you can make a special latched macro that you press once to go 23x and press again for 7x, but I got lag)*

Aux 1 - AP Descent Mode*

Aux 3 - AP Route Mode (advanced command)*

POV 1 - View look

POV 2 - Shkval slew

Throttle Hat - Hardpoints I/O/A/AA

Mouse Hat - Landing Light Slew

Rudder - <45% wheel brakes, >55% collective brake*

shift Rudder - <45% parking brakes, >55% collective brake*

Rotary 1 - <45% Shkval gate dec, >55% Shkval gate inc*

Rotary 2 - <45% Free Turbine Low, >55% Free Turbine High*

*Required keystroke or advanced keystroke command in profile, all else are directly bound to joystick button
