Does RAlt+Num0 work to save your default Cockpit view? It doesn't for me!!

I have been doing this for years to set the default(spawn in position) cockpit view, and Snapviews.  For Snapviews, you press Num0+Num? to select a snapview, and then customize it.  Then press RAlt+Num0 to save it.  That still works fine..  No problem there.....

I have done this also for years to set the Default Cockpit view.  Start a new mission, and as soon as you spawn in, before you change any views, customize your cockpit view (ie. zoom in out / *, Move your head- RCtrl+Shift+Numpad keys).  Then to Save it, press RAlt+Num0.   But that no longer works for me.  I've tested it on the FA18, F16, & Harrier..  No Joy!

I'm running the current OB MT or non-MT.  I also read to press Num5 before you customize the view, then save it.  I have never needed to do that before, but I tried it several times and it does not help.

Do you have snap view saving checked in the options?

Thanks for the reply.

Yes.  I am able to save all Snapviews.  Just not the default Cockpit view.

Can you try to saved a default Cockpit view and see if RAlt+Num0 saves it??

You mean “default” as in the “zoom normal” setting? Yes that works for me. I can’t set the default which the game starts with, don’t know if that’s possible.

Yea,the default the game starts with when you spawn into the cockpit.  I've been customizing that like this for years..

UPDATE:

Well, I was trying to get it to save my FOV value (*, /) setting.  I swear that RAlt+Num0 used to save that as well as the head position (6DOF & Angles).  But the only way I could get it to save the FOV was to manually edit the Snapview.lua in Saved Games/Config/Views, and edit item [13] ..  viewAngle = 73.000000,   for the FA-18_Hornet aircraft.

I had calculated my HFOV to be 73 a few weeks ago using this HFOV calculator, to be 73.  And nothing looks stretched at the edges of my screen anymore.  Even though the VFOV is only 23 degrees, things look correct.

I like my Samsung C9 monitor.  But for DCS, or any simulator, I think an more rectangular aspect ratio would give you a better overall FOV.
