Pyrocumulous Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 This question is in regards to the update on lens options for the Pimax Crystal: https://pimax.com/crystal-notice/ A glass 35ppd lens is the standard. My understanding is that we have the choice of either an additional polycarbonate 42ppd lens or a glass "wide FOV lens." Frustrating that we don't know what "wide FOV" really is, nor an option of glass for the 42ppd. Strictly for DCS World, what are your thoughts on what is ideal? Do you think it depends on flying modern jets with radar versus the warbirds? I've been flying with Reverb G2. and I am definitely looking forward to the higher resolution and larger sweetspot for spotting aircraft. Should the polycarbonate versus glass be a factor? I believe that I could eventually acquire all three, but for now, trying to figure out which option to select. 1 Warthog HOTAS, VMAX Prime Throttle, TPR pedals, Kensington Slimblade Pro, Pimax Crystal, RTX 4090 FE, Asus ProArt X670E-Creator, Ryzen 7950X3D, 64gb DDR5.
speed-of-heat Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 I can't speak to the specific use case, i have prescription glasses made out of both polycarbonate and glass and the only difference i have found is weight... glass is also somewhat more resistant to scratching. 2 SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
