Hello!

The wings look like A or B version... but does anyone know on which version the battery section (the part in front of the forward wings) looked like this? All pictures I find show a smooth battery section without the indents as shown on the screenshot.

Do you know which version this is and if it was used? Or if this is fictional?

Thank you!

That looks like CGI. Is it a cutaway type of image?

Also note that it's not just the AIM-120 that looks like that. The AAM-4 is very similar.

It is the picture of a 3D Model that I bought for 3D printing. It should be an AIM120. (I am currently printing it 1:1😁)

The only picture I found matching this model is this:

https://www.airforce-technology.com/news/us-aim-120c-amraam-missiles-sale/

But I am still unsure of the model. The colours show it as an training missile with the blue stripes, maybe this is the reason why it looks different.

Unfortunately I'm not sure why there are indents on the missile. If it is an AIM-120 all I can say is that it's an A or B model, which are externally identical as far as I know, but you knew that already.

AIM-120 on display at NASM.

The indented section looks to be a “see the inner workings” piece. No operational -120 has this.

Not really an interesting section to “open up” really, but who knows - maybe someone likes that?

*edit - yikes!! Same perspective and everything!
