Snazzy coloured Flares

On a MP server earlier somebody surprised me by pulling toward the runway and firing off a coloured flare. I was still chuckling when I took off. Something about the way it plopped across the airfield tickled me and if I’d have had my Mossie fully equipped and tip top, maybe I’d have fired off a flare or something myself.

Of course, my motives for asking for target indicators, coloured flares and assorted whizzbangs is purely for the serious business of mission accomplishment and nothing to do with any firework displays or any general buggering about. Wouldn’t dream of it. So would this be too much to ask for please, along with the window wiper motor? Many thanks.

I’m starting to convert to the 109. Someone shot a flare out of one the other day and I cracked up. Four colours too just to rub it in and to see how easily it’s removed or equipped beggars belief why our dear Mossies are bereft.

Part of my habitual startup in the mos is to open the covers for the extinguishers then probably to spite myself, I dial up the wiper too. One day that wiper’s gonna move

Unfortunately that’s part of my startup procedure, drop tanks release cover too when I carry them.

I don’t know what is the big issue with adding flares to the Mossie like the 109 has. It is not like this requires difficult crew animations - there is no crew!

I'm sort of kidding. It's more like I'm tickling after proper flares or Target Indicators.

I mean, I'm not about to start any petitions, dirty protests or throw any toys out over it but they'd both be good, the pistol flares as well as TIs (as well as the wiper fix lol). I love the Mossie, for all it's foibles. Every time I turn up the wiper I smirk a little and ya never know, one day they might just surprise us.

ETA: ...On posting and reading that again I see how I've taken that the wrong way. Apologies but in my state of affairs it's a wonder I can type. It's around 30 in here, I've the body of a knackered ol man with stents and I barely slept in the heat last night. Everyone's flaked out and begging for more aircon and I'm about to open a naughty cold one.

My one and only (so far) venture into the Model Viewer here had me checking out the wooden wonder. I fiddled with the sliders and almost the first one I tried made the wiper move. "They've animated it" I thought and posted somewhere in here on the wish list.

I'm beginning to understand why when I first called out for the ground crew in DCS, none appeared. We never see them. After a couple of years I wonder if they've already got full on WWII ground crews, trolley accs and bowsers all fully animated but kept them back, out of sight. This way, none of us can work out how to collar one of them and have a word. Imagine the queue outside the dispersal hut.
