MachTwo Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 Good day, From my understanding, the SP option on the TGP page is SnowPlow mode, and when selected should make the TGP face directly forwards and slightly down. Upon deselecting, it should ground-stabilize. I am trying to learn how to use the TGP on the Viper and SP is not seeming to work for me. When I select SP, the TGP slaves to what appears to be a random/arbitrary point. Based on what I have read/seen from various tutorials, the TGP shouldn't be doing this. Is this a bug, or is there something that I am misunderstanding/error in my procedure? When I do a cold start of the jet, I make sure to turn on the right hardpoint well before taxiing to ensure the TGP is powered in advance of takeoff. For takeoff, I set the TGP to standby mode. I have tried experimenting in both NAV and A/G master modes with no success. The map I have been playing on is Persian Gulf, single player. Additionally, it seems that in NAV mode whenever I move the TGP it moves my steer point as well. Any assistance/clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! F16TGP.mp4 2023-08-30 17-32-31.mp4
ED Team Solution Raptor9 Posted August 30, 2023 ED Team Solution Posted August 30, 2023 Regarding Snowplow, it only works when in a "Pre-planned" weapon delivery sub-mode such as CCRP, or in NAV mode while the FCR is in GM, GMT, or SEA modes. You are in CCIP, in which the TGP should be slaved to the CCIP pipper. The "SP" option should not be displayed on the MFD button options when conditions exist in which Snowplow cannot be used. This will be rectified in a future update. As for the second part when the TGP is slewing the steerpoint, this is correct behavior. To return the steerpoint to the original location, you must press Cursor Zero (CZ). And welcome to the forums. Afterburners are for wussies...hang around the battlefield and dodge tracers like a man. MachTwo Posted August 30, 2023 Author Posted August 30, 2023 That fixed my problem, thanks for the help! I also had a parallax issue with my mavericks from ground-boresighting. Did a midair boresight + used PRE mode and shacked 6 tanks on the next try. My only other question is when deselecting SP, my TGP slaves directly back to my SPI like when selecting CZ, and doesn't ground stabilize at the location where SP was deselected. Is that normal behaviour? Once again thank you so much for the help!
