Kopi Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 Hello! I am considering getting a 7900XTX soon and is wondering if this GPU is good for VR? I did a bit of research and found that its drivers at release wasn't great for VR. Am wondering if things are better now? Thanks in advance for any reply! 1
AngleOff66 Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 (edited) This video shows that the 7900 xtx became better in vr with recent driver releases. That being said this ytber uses an oculus. It seems like each vr set may give you different results? Edit:typos Edited September 5, 2023 by AngleOff66
AngleOff66 Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 Sorry I forgot: Research your headset with the AMD GPU. Varjo does not work with AMD? Some AMD owners still switched back to Nvidia? The way things are going for Nvida and AMD and their concentration on AI, I guess I will wait for the next round of GPU and maybe Intel
wormeaten Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Look, I will just tell you I nowhere see real owner of 7900XTX is complaining about that GPU. Most complainant comes from Nvidia owners so how much such complainant are objective is another question. My friend just switch from 3080 to 7900XTX and he is thrilled. That's talking everything. His problem now is only 10600K bottleneck so he planning to switch to some Ryzen X3D to be able improving even more with Smart Access Memory possibility in AMD CPU GPU combo.
TED Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 I’m using a 7900xtx with Pimax 8kx. It’s fantastic. Previously had. 6900xt also zero issues and was very happy with that. Before that a 3080. Run Pimax at full native resolution and all high settings in dcs. Sometimes even over sample, but these days mostly playing dcs liberation/retribution campaigns and absolutely zero problems at native resolution in very busy campaigns with loads of assets and lots of things going on. It’s smooth, no stuttering runs quite cool. I’m never going back to nvidia. 1
