So many bugs here.   I didn't see this one right off.  

MT.  Keep getting MFD images overlaying each other.  Is this already a known issue?

That is not a bug, when you get a warning with engines it'll overlay eng page over whatever you have at that moment. Similarly ASE page will be overlayed if you have a warning from there. Manual reference : null
