Looking into buying an Orion 2 kit. Question about detents.

Hi everyone,

I'm considering purchasing this set:

https://eu.winwingsim.com/view/goods-details.html?id=324&sku_id=30

However, there's one thing I'm having trouble to figure out. As you can see in the configuration above, I'd order the F-15E grip, which comes with the 'dual throttle connector'. What is the relationship between that and the Idle and AB detents?

I have no interest in the finger lift kit they sell since the finger lifts themselves don't act as a button, so when starting up the F-15E, just touching them won't trigger the engines to start, making them just a mechanical unlock to move the grips.

However, is the finger lift kit necessary in order to have Idle/AB detents? In other words, if I order the kit as is, with just the 'dual throttle connectors', will I have no detents anywhere?

Thanks

Yes, you need finger lifts for the detents and idle stop.

You have detents but without the fingerlifts they are just pull thru like the AB is a push through. The fingerlifts make the idle stop a hard stop.

FYI I use the HDG and CRS rotating knobs push function for my #1 and #2 Eng fingerlift engine start. Works great.

How so? Orion 2 does not have any built in detents. That was on orion 1.

Nope, the Orion 1 had detents, the Orion 2 doesn't!

Not sure this is the proper place to ask this question, but I have the Super Taurus Throttle and I can't seem to get the 2 rotatory (Position/Formation) to work in DCS, neither work in DCS but both work in IL2 GB. What do I need to do the get these 2 rotatory working. They did work at one time but that was long ago.  Thanks  TC

They are an analog axis, not digital. You bind them in the axis only area of control settings

Thanks, also Winwing notified me my order for F-15 EX grips was ready, only problem is I had to pay with in a 3hr period, they sent the e-mail on the 9th at 0230 and I replied on the 9th at 1425pm. I was under the impression I had a 48hr window but when I attempted to pay it said the had been invalidated. I was able to reorder 0n the 14th so all is good.  Thanks again  TC
