Having built up a decent rig 9900k 4090, G2, I have just been diagnosed with mild epilepsy. All started about a year ago with  short 10 second deja vu moments about once a month, I am fully aware during the incidents.  While in themselves the symptoms are very minor, I thought I should get it checked out and its come back as mild epilepsy, have voluntarily started tablets which should get it in check.

For the last few months I have kept away from VR just in case. Due an EEG shortly which might narrow down the type.  From my experience over the last year I have noted no correlation with VR use.  I do sim racing as well so fortunately I have a triple setup which has a lot of benefits over VR while not being as good (when VR is working properly). Flight sim and sim racing tend to be relatively slow movement which helps.

I have been saving up for a new processor and headset but am now wondering if its a potential waste of money if I can't use VR longterm, my rig runs the 1440p 32 inch triples very well.  The doctors have little experience of VR so thought I would reach out here to see if any one has any experience of the issue. As i have said its  very minor at present.

I would bet you would be fine.  Even monitors can trigger that.

You will be fine bro. DCS is mostly smooth movements and rarely flashy, two of the things that can trigger an episode.

Besides, yout brain is already trained in VR. That's important. I almost puked the first time I played DCS, I still do if I try racing sims.

If you're used to both, I don't think VR is going to bring any problems. Just limit to short sessions at first until you gain confidence.
