Alexrey Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Hey guys, I don't have a joystick or throttle to play DCS, only a mouse and keyboard and was wondering if it's somehow possible for me to bind the left and right rudder controls on the left and right mouse buttons. And then the throttle up and throttle down controls on the 2 buttons on the side of my mouse (I'm using a Logitech MX510)? That would make flying a whole lot easier! :)
nemises Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 (edited) it seems possible.... go to the controls section, make sure you are in "KA50 Real" mode (assuming you don't fly arcade / game?) in the middle drop down box select "INS Collective Stick" , then bind the controls "collective up" and "collective down" by double clicking on the appropriate row under the "Mouse" collumn..and in the windows that pop up, open the drop down box called "Key, Button" , and you should see all of your mouse buttons listed. Select the appropriate button for whatever control you are setting. Repeat for the others. The Rudder keys can be set the same way if you select the "INS Rudder" filter from the middle box in the controls section. The only real isuse I see is that you "might" loose the ability to click on things in the cockpit if you bind the left mouse button to something else ?...maybe not though, as I assume you would switch into "mouse look" view for flying, and mouse click view for colckpit clicking (is it alt-C ?) .. try it an see, and let us know. Good luck, and get a joystick as soon as you can!!! (and then a throttle, and then a trackir and then rudder pedals ;) ) Edited March 12, 2009 by nemises
