Spetz
Put this together and posted on Reddit, thought I'd drop it here. May help out some peeps. With these settings, I have a CONSTANT 36 FPS (per eye), no screen tearing, crisp displays and no jaggies on a laptop. My PC specs: MSI Vector GP66, 3070Ti (no over/under clocking), 64 Gb Ram, i7-12700H, DCS on WD Black SN850X. Running Quest 2 at 72Hz PD 1.2. After DCS main game updates, I do a CLEAN, followed by a SLOW REPAIR using DCS Updater. OVGME Mods I use: 1. GCTC 2.84.1 2. Taz1004 Optimized AH64D 3. Taz1004 Optimized A10C_2 4. Taz1004 Optimized F16C 5. Taz1004 Optimized FA18C 6. Taz1004 Optimized KA50_3 DCS Config Settings Add to DCS.exe Shortcut after the " --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR (may not be required, doesn't hurt) 1. In Graphics.lua (main DCS install)- change lodMult = 1.0; TO 0.5; in all distances (Ctrl F + lodMult) 2. In Graphics.lua (main DCS install)- change around_camera = 50000 and around_objects = 10000; TO 0 (zero) My NVCP Settings for DCS.exe (make sure it points to MT version, may not matter) Image Scaling - OFF Ambiant Occlusion - Not supported Anistropic filtering - OFF Antialiasing - FXAA - OFF Antialiasing - Gamma correction - ON Antialiasing - Mode - Enhance the application setting Antialiasing - Setting - 2X Antialiasing - Transparency - Multisample Background Application Max Frame Rate - OFF CUDA - GPUs - ALL Low Latency Mode - ULTRA Max Frame Rate - OFF Multi-frame Sampling AA (MFAA) - ON OpenGL GDI compatibility - AUTO OpenGL rendering GPU - Select GPU Power management mode - PREFER MAX PERFORMANCE Preferred refresh rate - APP CONTROLLED Texture Filtering - Anisotrpoic Sample optimization - OFF Texture Filtering - Negative LOD bias - CLAMP Texture Filtering - Quality - HIGH QUALITY Texture Filtering - Trilinear optimization - ON Threaded optimization - AUTO Triple Buffering - OFF Vertical Sync - OFF Virtual Reality pre-rendered frames - 2 Virtual Reality - Variable Rate Super Sampling - Not Supported Vulkan/OpenGL present method - AUTO OpenXR Tweaks PERFORMANCE Upscaling/sharpening - CAS at 50% (Play around, 50% seems not to harsh, 40% works too) Fixed FOV - Preset - Quality / Narrow TURBO mode - ON FPS Throttling - 36 (what ever your headset is set to then 1/2 (My Quest 2 is at 72 Hz x 1/2 = 36) APPEARANCE Post Processing - ON Sun Glasses - Light DCS In Game Graphics Settings Resolution: 1280x800 Monitors: 1 screen Res. of cockpit Displays: 1024 every Frame AA : DLAA Upscaling: OFF Sharpening: 1 (full right) Textures: Medium Terrain Textures: HIGH Shadows: MediumFlat Shadow Blur: OFF Secondary Shadows: OFF SSS: OFF Visib Range: Medium Civ traffic: Low Clouds: ULTRA Water: Medium SSAO: OFF SSLR: OFF Lens Effects: Dirt and Flare Heat Blur: OFF Motion Blur: OFF Blur Amout: Zero DOF: OFF Screen Shot: JPG Color Grading: Not Used Clutter/Grass: 800 Forest Visibilty: 100% Forest Details: 1 Scenery Details: 1 Preload Radius: 76000 Chimney Smoke: 3 Gamma: 2 External FOV: 78 LOD Switch Factor: 2 Anistropic Filtering: 4X Terrain Object Shadows: Flat Cockpit Global Illumination: ON Messages Font Scale: 1.5 Scale GUI: 1 Rain Droplets = checked Vsync = Not checked Full Screen = checked Cursor confined to game window = checked VR TAB Enable VR headset = checked PD = 1.0 Use Mouse: checked Cursor confined to game window = checked IPD = your choice Use built in audio = checked Lastly.. 1. Turn off HAGS (hardware accelerated GPU scheduling). This is a standard setting in Win 10, but not in Win 11. I changed a registry entry to turn it off. 2. Disable Hotplug in DCS controller settings 3. Delete FXO and metashaders folder contents. Restart game, join mission and just look around to rebuild shader files etc. Cycle the F# views, and fly for a few minutes looking everywhere (over wings, up, down etc). Each new cockpit and terrain will need new shaders rebuilt as they have been deleted. I have a mission with my primary flyers on my primary map to help rebuilding the files quickly. Just jump to a new cockpit every couple minutes. 4. Exit, restart, and fly mission. Should be G2G.
