dsc106 Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 5950x, RTX 4090, Reverb G2, motion reprojection locked at 45fps, mostly high graphic settings, DLSS Quality. MT Preview Build. Steam version. OpenXR. Tried with HAGs on & off, DLSS on & off. Vsync is off in NVIDA control panel, power management at max performance. Cleared FXO/Metashaders folders. I didn't have this issue previously, it has started after 2.9. I've always run 45fps motion reprojection to turn on more eye candy. I favor low level helicopter flight, often in maps with a lot going on. Even when my FPS is high and frame times are good & low (9-12ms) I will get micro stuttering near the ground or near objects, IE looking down at ground or out side of cockpit near buildings. No frame drops though. Up high, all good. I believe it gets worse when I get higher frametimes (14-19ms) with less overhead, but it is not exclusive to this. And previously, things would remain smooth even at the higher frame times as long as my FPS stayed constant. Again, this wasn't an issue in the past that I recall. Poking around, it seems other VR users have experienced this sort of "judder" or "micro stutter" in VR in similar scenarios. Any fixes? Is this a known issue? 1 VR Exclusive (5950x/4090/G2) | All DLC | Buttkicker + HF8 | Virpil Everything w/MFG Crosswinds
nts76 Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 2.9 launch was good but I lost a lot of the performance gains after the hot fix. It was what was gained in the update was lost in the fix and then some.
Convexrook Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 That slight micro stutter you see is specific to WMR, I have both Reverb G2 and Index and only get those when I use the G2.
paul2437 Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 Hi I have a Pimax Crysta/rtx 4090l and its the same 72hz 90hz close to the ground micro stutters constantly
MadMonty Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 (edited) I have nearly the exact same hardware. For me a downgrade from 90 to 60Hz did improve it a lot (but running Steam VR instead OpenXR), when running 90Hz I have stutters on a flyby view, when running 60Hz they are gone. Bones478 Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 I have the same issue running the Varjo Aero. 7900x3D, 4090, 32gb ram. I get micro stutters when moving my head from side to side. It’s about 50% -60% percent of the the time. The other time it’s smooth. This goes back and forth. I am at 80-90 fps. Running all current drivers and Bios. This happens on all low graphic settings as well. Changing the graphic settings seems do not help anything. 1
Derrick006 Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Same here almost same rig except quest 2 I7 12700k RTX3080ti ddr4 80g Quest2 Winwing environnement !
diego999 Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Using turbo mode in OpenXR Toolkit has fixed terrain stuttering for me. Give it a try.
