Crass Posted August 15 Posted August 15 I was able to figure out what my problem was . Slughead you were right there was nothing wrong my setup. My issue was I have the Winwing MIP and the software for it Simapp Pro wont let TARGET connect to the Viper panel if it running. The fix was to keep Simapp off, start and run the Scrip from the editor. Once it was up running (Only takes few seconds now) then start Simapp and the Viper panel lights now works in DCS. Thanks again for the great work you do.
slughead Posted August 15 Author Posted August 15 That’s great. Whenever there’s a problem always go back to basics. Strip back to just what you need, test, then start adding back one at a time. It’s the same with DCS. Remove all mods and start from the bare minimum. Add mods back until you find the problem, Slugmouse: a finger-mounted mouse button emulator for hand-tracked VR cockpit clicking. Available now! Slugmouse Demonstration Video
Semtexx Posted yesterday at 04:49 PM Posted yesterday at 04:49 PM Hello, i've probably discovered a conflict between DCS2Target and DCS DTC that i can't solve by myself. I don't know if is known but when both the plugin are running (and DCS2TARGET works perfectly) DCS2TARGET blocks TACAN and WPT in F-16, i can use only one of them. The reason is DCS DTC modifies mission LUA files to insert data (WP, TACAN, COM, etc.), DCS2Target sometimes redirects the same files or reads from Export.lua for LEDs and bindings. If both write to Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\Export.lua, one may overwrite the other. Is there any chance to solve this conflict? Thanks a lot, Andrea.
slughead Posted yesterday at 05:03 PM Author Posted yesterday at 05:03 PM DCS2Target doesn’t use export.lua. It used to use export.lua until I found a better way with the intention to prevent the export.lua conflicts. Also DCS2Target does do any redirection. It’s a read only program. Perhaps you’re running a very old version of DCS2Target. Slugmouse: a finger-mounted mouse button emulator for hand-tracked VR cockpit clicking. Available now! Slugmouse Demonstration Video

Sorry, the reason reported in the last message was ai generated only to help, because i've no idea, but the reality is unchanged: if i want to navigate through DCS DTC i can't use DCS2target and viceversa. Could you give me a chance to use them togheter? Thanks a lot.

slughead Posted yesterday at 05:32 PM Author Posted yesterday at 05:32 PM (edited) Can you provide a link to DCS DTC? Is it purely software or does it need any hardware, iPad etc? I not going to promise a solution. I am on holiday this week and have Slugmouse orders to manufacture and ship in my return, then folk from the other F-16 simulator that require some software changes. Then I can take a look at this. However, I very much doubt there is anything I can do, about 0.1% chance and my code only reads data. Have you raised this with the DCS DTC developer? Semtexx Posted yesterday at 05:41 PM Posted yesterday at 05:41 PM I'll surely contact the DTC developer too, DCS DCT is a very common software and it a valid sobstitute of ingame DCS DTC, here's the link, but i think you know it: https://github.com/the-paid-actor/dcs-dtc For the moment i've to tirn off dcs2target until found something useful... thanks in any case. Andrea.
slughead Posted 23 hours ago Author Posted 23 hours ago Honestly I’ve never heard of it. I actually exclusively fly in VR, so I don’t see the lights on the Viper. I wrote DCS2Target for fun and interest as there was nothing else available. Slugmouse: a finger-mounted mouse button emulator for hand-tracked VR cockpit clicking. Available now! Semtexx Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago The doubts still remain: with DCS DTC, as the name, you can import a Flight plan created outside the DCS mission editor using www.combinedops.org (i'm an italian flying group member) but the best is creating a .json file containing all frequencies you need and a lot of other elements. Through the main executable program we can load in less than minute a great amount of data inside the onboard computer. DCS DTC is used with VR too, of course, i use the VR, but i think a solution to make DCS2TARGET working with this, necessary (no Waypoint, no Tacan), program can be find. DCS2TARGET is really fantastic, simple and effective, i'll continue to look for a way.
slughead Posted 22 hours ago Author Posted 22 hours ago Oh sorry. The Data Transfer Cartridge that DCS added recently. I’ve not had a chance to use it yet. Can you provide your DCs.log file from a mission when you have the problem. There may be an error visible in there that identifies the problem. Semtexx Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Last night I dreamed (really!) about the solution to the issue, the funny thing is it actually works! Basically, I merged the two Export.lua files, enabling one program at a time and extracting the missing strings. At first, DCS-DTC only showed me the TACANs and WPTs working on the HSI, but it didn't load all the steerpoints, then it loaded everything correctly. Amazing.
slughead Posted 9 hours ago Author Posted 9 hours ago (edited) I said earlier that DCS2Target doesn’t use export.lua. The early versions did use export.lua. You should fully uninstall DCS2Target. Remove all of its files and folders. There should be nothing in export.lua about DCS2Target. I would remove both mods and erase export.lua and start over.
