Only if using a router would you need ethernet to it so that you get maximum throughput to the router and then across WiFi to the headset. If using a hotspot on your motherboard, your PC is already directly connected to the WiFi transmitter via the motherboard. It's all about maximum data throughput to the headset and reducing latency. If you had WiFi to the router and then WiFi to the headset, the latency would be doubled.

When I tried VD, I set my Z790 motherboard's onboard Wi-Fi 6E AX210 to "mobile hotspot" mode. It seemed to work ok.

Microsoft tried... and failed.

Setting to reduce Forest flickering(?) ?
slughead replied to Keith Briscoe's topic in Virtual Reality
You need to increase the setting of “Visibility of Trees” and “Loading Radius”. With your system you can max these out. -
Have you guys raised this on the VD discord?

slughead started following Meta PCVR. Why don't they listen? and Pico 4 and hand tracking
-
Is hand tracking with the Pico 4 possible in DCS? If so, what options are there? Actual hands shown and if so, how does it perform for cockpit interaction? Is there an option to just control the mouse pointer instead of VR hands?

Or perhaps a monopoly of VR OS, like Microsoft, by trying to make theirs the defacto OS.

Update: New feature: The charging status is now shown in the Bluetooth & devices window. The charge level will continuously increase from 10 to 100% and start again until fully charged. See video. Bugfix: Fixed the condition where the Slugmouse would not auto-sleep if the paired PC disconnects, i.e., it is turned off before the Slugmouse enters the sleep state. slugmouse charging status.mp4

I find though that say you have mapped mouse buttons to your stick, you can’t turn and look at cockpit controls far left and far right and hold/control the stick buttons at the same time. If you have a headset with hand tracking, you may be able to use the hand tracking to control the mouse pointer and wireless finger mounted mouse emulators, such as the Slugmouse, to perform the mouse clicks. This makes interaction with the cockpit hand based and improves immersion. Oculus headsets have hand tracking and can be used with HTCC to control the mouse. Others that don’t have hand tracking can be used with an Ultraleap Motion controller to perform hand tracking along with HTCC (hand tracked cockpit clicking).

Let’s be fair about this. Rafgaj made it clear in his advertisement that it was fixed sized at 21.5mm as he made it only for his fingers. That’s one reason why completely redeveloped the CAD from scratch so I could offer a made to measure service. Try some hot melt glue. It will last longer. This is just how DCS works. If you add another game controller, it will appear in the settings. It’s the same if you add another joystick or throttle. I don’t think this is an issue with your units. You are using HTCC in VR Controller mode and the rings are mouse emulators. Who knows how DCS behaves with VR controllers pointing at buttons and then a mouse click happens. I don’t see this when HTC is in tablet mode.

reported MT freezes even in main menu

That’s a work-around not a solution. Your PC will be drawing more power and generating more heat prematurely wearing it out with core parking disabled. -

Update: I tried DCS with core parking enabled with the DTT stuff installed. It has not fixed it. I can't say whether that's because it may not be enabled due to the Intel Application Optimisation program not working. I can say that I have more bloatware on my machine now, though. Considering this thread is 24 pages long, and there have been lots of complaints.... why has no one else tried this yet? -

I have tried to test it. I updated my BIOS, which supports DTT. I installed the DTT drivers from the motherboard manufacturer. I installed the Intel Application Optimiser, but the latter says "failed to connect." Others are seeing the same. To say it fixes this, I would not be so sure, as the game title has to be one of those supported/listed in the app. As far as I have seen online, there are only two supported games, and DCS isn't one of them. I have yet to run DCS to see if what has been installed has helped.
